Dryline Concept Drawings
At the beginning of our 2nd year, we studied the concept of 'drylines'. We focused on Danish architect Bjarke Ingels and his concept for New York City. After this we were tasked with designing our own drylines for an empty lot off King Street and Riberia Road in St. Augustine, Florida.
Residential Floor Plans and Exterior
Throughout the 2nd year in Architecture, we learned AutoCAD with a book that included a floorplan we would be creating. As we are learning how to use the system, and all the regulations there are to design a building such as, the varying types of wall widths, spaces between the ceiling and the floor, roof trusses etc., we were learning this by actually going step by step from the book onto the screen, a floor plan.
Antebellum Project
Towards the end of my 2nd year in the Architecture Academy, we students got to pick an architectural period to study, develop a basic PowerPoint on what we learned, and create a floor plan and exterior elevation based on our new found knowledge. I chose the Antebellum period and my floor plan reflects the large plantation homes built in the southern states, and my elevation as well, but has an added French flare. A link to my Power Point is provided below.
